Welcome to the community-led ‘Borgue Community Benefit Society’.We are a registered Community Benefit Society (CBS). This means we operate differently from a standard private business:
Community First: We exist to serve the broader interests of Borgue, not to generate private profit for owners.
Asset Locked: We have a statutory “asset lock.” This guarantees that the assets we own (such as land or buildings) must be used for the benefit of the community and cannot be sold off for private gain.
One Member, One Vote: We are democratic. Every approved member has an equal say in how the society is run.
Reinvestment: Depending on the individual project any surplus we make can be put right back into maintaining our services and supporting local projects or small dividends could be offered to investors.
We are registered with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
