Bus Route

Borgue is served by an infrequent bus service that runs between Gatehouse and Kirkcudbright, with a detour to Brighouse Bay. Click here for a bus timetable.

Cycle Route

National Cycle Route 7, from Carlisle to Glasgow, runs through Borgue on the B727 from Kirkcudbright and the C8S road via Knockbrex and Rainton towards Gatehouse of Fleet. The route through Borgue is also a part of the Kirkpatrick C2C, a coast to coast cycle route between Portpatrick and Eyemouth.

Footpaths

Borgue has a network of Dumfries & Galloway Core Paths around the coastline and connecting to Borgue village. They are shown as solid red lines on the map below.

Solway Coast Regional Scenic Area

The southern part of the Borgue peninsula is part of the Solway Coast Regional Scenic Area.

Borgue Coast SSSI

The coastline of the Borgue Peninsula, from Senwick to Sandgreen is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest for its coastal geology and colonies of breeding seabirds.
