The following message has been received from Gatehouse Local History Group, requesting support for Mill on the Fleet:
Subject: Please support The Mill on the Fleet – or we might lose it!
Just to let you know that the Mill on the Fleet, part of Gatehouse local history, is coming up for renewal of the lease.
Local support for the Mill needs to be demonstrated for this renewal to happen and it does really need support to continue.
The Mill is a charity whose purposes are: ‘To advance, develop, improve and extend ” The Mill on the Fleet” as an arts, heritage and cultural centre for the benefit of Gatehouse of Fleet and the wider region’.
If you are interested in supporting the charity you can become an Individual Member by just filling in your details on an application form- it is free and there are no obligations! These are available at the Visitor Centre desk in the Mill.
The Mill is also in need of more volunteers for the Heritage and Information floor. This involves a 3 hour shift once a week at the desk welcoming visitors. Either 10 till 1pm or 1pm till 4pm.
I think all of us who already volunteer find it very enjoyable, meeting and chatting to visitors as well as getting a free drink and cake from the cafe!
