D&G Council’s Community Safety Team is seeking your views on issues that affect you. Every month, feedback received through the community safety survey will influence the planned engagement activities for the Community Safety Team in the months ahead, help direct public information campaigns and prioritise the neighbourhoods needing our support.
Our council’s Community Safety Team consists of eight patrol staff, based across the region. Your community safety officers offer a very broad range of functions from collecting stray dogs to delivering a programme of engagement events in schools. When deployed on patrol, their aim is to provide a visible reassurance to the neighbourhoods that most require support. Their presence will deter antisocial behaviour and community safety officers will issue fines when dog-fouling or littering is detected. They also offer a mediation service to help neighbours resolve disputes.
