From Alan James – 20 December 2020
Greetings
At last I’ve made as much as I can of the names on the Laigh Borgue map. Most of the difficulty is in matching them with the 1854 map and Rachel’s main one, but she’s done all the hard, eye-straining work. Linguistically, I think Garryhorn is the only newcomer in our area, but it’s not unique in The Stewartry.
My notes on the 1780 map follow on from my earlier ones on Borgue House, as it now is, attached.
All the best for the cut-down Christmas and locked-down New Year.
Alan
