Having seen your exhibition and reference to my surname, McConnell,[ however spelt with two L`s in one place and with one L on another, the later I thought was the Irish name ] I also saw familiar girls names mentioned in past years. My great grandfather came from Neilston, south of Glasgow, and I would be interested in any information you may have on the McConnell connection with the Brown family.
I look forward to any information you are able to provide.
Gordon McConnell
Thank you for your comments. I have passed on your request for information to members of the Brown family who are still living in the local area. Regards, John Shields
Hi. I’m in NZ but I believe James Browns mother was an Elizabeth McConnell who’s mother and father were Janet McClymont and James McConnell. My great-great-grandfather was James Brown’s bother John who came to NZ.
